Placing an Order

We are happy to welcome you as a customer of the Canon Online Store. Please note that the Canon Online Store is intended for end-user consumers purchasing products for their own personal, household or small office/home office use only. Sales on the Canon Online Store are limited to no more than ten (10) of any one (1) hardware item per customer, except for certain offers where a different quantity limitation is included in the offer terms. Hardware does not include related consumable products (ink, paper, and toner) or accessories. Canon U.S.A. reserves the right to refuse or cancel orders as specified more fully below.

When we receive your order, we will send an Order Receipt email to the email address you used to create a Canon Account or to place your order. Your receipt of an Order Receipt email, however, does not signify acceptance of your order by the Canon Online Store, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell; we are simply acknowledging that we received your order. The Canon Online Store reserves the right at any time after receiving your order to accept or cancel your order, without penalty, for any reason, including but not limited to, an obvious error in price, or current inventory of the product being depleted.

To place an order, follow the steps below:

  • Step 1: Select Product(s)

    You can find items in the Canon Online Store by browsing the categories, searching by product name or item number, or viewing the compatible accessories drop-down menu on our homepage for products that you already own.

    When you find an item that interests you, click the product name or image to view additional product details. You may also view a 360° tour of select products by clicking the play button on the product image.

    To order a product, enter a number in the quantity field, then click the "Add to Cart" button next to the product image.

    If an item is on backorder, you can place an order even though the item is not in stock. Once your order is confirmed and we receive inventory, the product will be shipped to the delivery address you provided in your order. If any of the items you have ordered are on backorder status, you will be notified through a Backorder Notification e-mail, both sent to the email address you used to create a Canon Account or to place your order. If your order includes more than one item, and one or more of the items you ordered is on backorder status it will be noted in the Shipment Confirmation email Once your order is warehoused (order has been sent to our warehouse), you cannot make any changes to your order.

    All shipments are subject to our Return Policy.

    Upon adding a hardware item to your Cart, you have the option of adding supplies and/or accessories for that product to your cart or viewing your cart and beginning checkout.

    If you choose to add supplies and/or accessories to your Cart, if desired, you can view the universal cart in the top section of the page, next to the shopping cart icon.

  • Step 2: Check Cart Summary

    You can view the Shopping Cart by clicking on Checkout in the top section of the page.

    In the Shopping Cart, you can change the quantity of each item, or delete any items that you no longer want to purchase.

    From the Shopping Cart you can choose to checkout or to continue shopping.

  • Step 3: Select Checkout Method

    To proceed with the checkout process, click the "Start Checkout" button.

    The Canon Online Store offers three (3) checkout options:

    • Canon Account Login
      If you have an account, you can checkout quickly and easily by logging-in.
    • Create a Canon Account
      You can create an account by clicking the "Create Account" button.
    • Guest Checkout
      If you do not have an account, and prefer not to create one at the time of purchase, you can complete the checkout process utilizing our Guest Checkout feature.
  • Step 4: Enter Billing & Shipping Information

    In order to verify payment and delivery information, enter your billing and shipping information on the Checkout page. Your billing information must match that on file with your credit/debit card issuer. If you are using a gift card your billing address must match the address you registered with the card issuer. The shipping address must be a street address in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. We do not ship to APO, FPO, or P.O. boxes, and we do not ship to Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Please avoid using "vanity addresses," as this could result in a delay in delivery.

    Once you have completed all of the required fields, click "continue" to advance.

  • Step 5: Choose a Shipping Method

    The next page will display shipping options and rates for shipping and handling charges. Select the radio button for the shipping method of your choice and click continue.

  • Step 6: Select a Payment Method

    Choose your card type and enter the credit/debit/gift card number (without spaces), card identification number, expiration date and the cardholder's name.

    Next, click the "Continue" button. For detailed information on our acceptable payment methods, please see the Payment Options section.

  • Step 7: Review & Submit Order

    At the bottom of the Payment Method and Order Review Page, you can check your billing & shipping information and delivery method, as well as the items included in your order.

    Once you have confirmed that your order details are correct, click the place order button to complete the checkout process.

  • Step 8: View Order Receipt

    Once you have submitted your order you will be shown your order receipt. We recommend printing this page for your records. If you cannot print the page, be sure to retain the order number for your records.

    If you have an account with the Canon Online Store you can see your pending or past orders by clicking the Canon Account link at the top of any page and clicking on View Previous Orders.

Shopping & Buying

  • Refurbished Products
    • Products are returned to Canon for a variety of reasons, including overstock balancing, miscellaneous returns from retailers, suspected mis-operation, and minor damage to the box.
    • Products that are refurbished must pass a comprehensive quality assurance inspection before final packaging and shipment. Rigorous function and cosmetic inspections are performed by trained Canon technicians so that each refurbished product meets operational specifications and strict cosmetic standards that we have established.
    • Browse the Canon Online Store's selection of refurbished products by clicking the Refurbished Products link in the Special Offers section of the Canon Online Store homepage.
  • Build Your Bundle
    • Build Your Bundle is a convenient way to purchase hardware and select compatible accessories.
    • You can navigate to the Build Your Bundle page by selecting the link on the Special Offers section of the Canon Online Store homepage.
    • You may be limited to one bundle per bundle category; see the left side of the Build Your Bundle page for bundle categories. Build Your Bundle orders will only ship complete, once all items in the order are in stock. If you wish to return an item from a Build Your Bundle order, in addition to the terms and conditions of our Return Policy, all items included in that Build Your Bundle order must be returned together. Build Your Bundle orders must be placed online; they cannot be placed utilizing our telephone order service.
  • Order Support

    Check Order Status & Tracking
    To view your order status and order details, click the Order Status link and enter your order number, last name, and the billing zip code.

    If you have a Canon Account, you may log in to Canon Account to review the date and time that the order was placed, order number & status, and total charges for orders placed within the last two years.

    By selecting an order number, you can view the item(s) ordered and the tracking number(s) for shipped items. The tracking number links directly to the shipment/tracking information on the FedEx� Website.

  • Emails about Your Order

    After an order has been submitted, we communicate by email to keep you informed about its status. You will receive updates at the email address that you used to create a Canon Account or to place your order.

    Communication about your order may include, but is not limited to:

    • Order Receipt
    • Backorder Notification Email
    • Shipment Confirmation
    • Shipping Delays

  • Find Your Order Number

    Your order number, which you may want for status and tracking purposes, can be found in the following places:

    • Order Receipt Page (Checkout)
    • Order Status Update Emails
    • Orders in Canon Account

  • Easy Reorder

    If you have a Canon Account, this feature makes it fast and easy to purchase genuine Canon Supplies and Accessories that you have ordered in the past. You can navigate to the Easy Reorder page by logging into your Canon Account.

    • On the Easy Reorder page, you can browse a list of all items that you have purchased from the Canon Online Store through your Canon Account.
    • Enter the amount of each item that you would like to reorder in the Quantity field. To permanently delete an item from the Easy Reorder process, click 'Remove.'
    • In order to add an item to the list, you must first purchase the item from the Canon Online Store through your Canon Account.
    • Click on "Add to Cart" to begin the checkout process.
  • Special Offers & Promotions

    The Canon Online Store makes it simple to take advantage of special offers, promotions, and discounts.

    • To take advantage of a promotion that requires a promotion code, locate your promotion code in the email or brochure. Find the product(s) associated with the promotion and add to your shopping cart.
    • On the shopping cart page, enter the promotion code in the box on the left side of the page and click "Submit." Our system will recognize your code and a "More Info" button will be displayed with details about the promotion.

    • All discounts and offers will be displayed in the Shopping Cart. Only one promotion code can be used per order. If you have received more than one promotion code offer, you will need to place separate orders to take advantage of each offer.
    • For current discounts and offers, click on the Promotions link on the homepage.
  • Returns

    The Canon Online Store will accept, for return or exchange, defective or unopened merchandise purchased at the Canon Online Store, subject to the exceptions and timeframe for returns listed below: All merchandise returned to the Canon Online Store must be in the original packaging with all original items (such as manuals, cables, etc.) accompanying the merchandise and a copy of the invoice/packing slip included to be eligible for return or exchange. Shipping and handling fees from your original order will not be refunded, unless the merchandise is determined by the Canon Online Store, in its sole discretion, to be defective.

  • Exceptions to Return Policy
    • Non-defective CD-ROMs and instruction manuals are not eligible for return or exchange.
    • If you wish to return an item from a customized set of items from Build Your Bundle, all bundle items must be returned together.
    • Shipping and handling fees from your original order will not be refunded, unless the merchandise is determined by Canon, in its sole discretion, to be defective.
  • Timeframe and Shipping Instructions for Returns/Exchanges
    • All returns and exchanges must be accompanied by a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
    • To return or exchange defective or unopened merchandise, customers must (a) obtain an RMA number within 14 calendar days of the date the order was delivered to the delivery address specified on the order and (b) return the merchandise to the Canon Online Store within the Return Period of 14 calendar days of the date the RMA number was issued by the Canon Online Store.
    • The Canon Online Store address can be found on the peel-off label on your packing slip. To receive an RMA number for returns or exchanges, call the Canon Online Store toll-free at 1-800-385-2155, from 8:00am - Midnight ET, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
    • The RMA number must be clearly written on the outside of the shipping package. We recommend that you ship the merchandise you are returning via FedEx, UPS or other delivery service that provides tracking information and insurance, since the Canon Online Store will not be responsible for returns that are lost or damaged in transit.
    • We will not accept any returns or exchanges after the Return Period. For hardware product issues after the Return Period has expired, please refer to your product's Limited Warranty. Extended Service Plans are available for most hardware products. Please visit the Service & Support section of our web site at http://www.canontechsupport.com for details.
  • Extended Holiday Return Period
    • Shop with confidence this holiday! All of the terms listed above apply for holiday returns, except that for purchases made from November 15, 2013 through December 25, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. ET, the timeframe for calling to request an RMA has been extended to January 15, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Order Status Terms

  • Backorders

    If an item is on backorder, you can place an order although the item is not in stock. Once your order is received and confirmed and we receive inventory, the product will be shipped to your delivery address. If any of the items you have ordered are on backorder status, you will be notified through a Backorder Notification e-mail as well as in the Shipment Confirmation e-mail, both sent to the email address you used to create a Canon Account or to place your order. If your order includes more than one item, and one or more of the items you ordered is on backorder status it will be noted in the Shipment Confirmation email. Once your order is received and confirmed and your backordered item ships, your payment will be processed.

    If your order includes one or more items that are in stock and one or more items that are on "backorder" status, select your shipping preference during the checkout process:

    • Full Shipment: Wait for all items to be available before shipping.
    • Partial Shipment: Ship available items now and ship each backordered item as it becomes available. Note: Additional shipping and handling charges may apply.

    Once your order is warehoused(order has been sent to our warehouse), you cannot make any changes to the order. All shipments are subject to our Return Policy.

  • Cancelled Orders

    If you believe that your order has been cancelled in error or you have questions regarding this status, please call our Customer Support team toll-free at 1-800-385-2155, from 8:00am - Midnight ET, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

  • Notify Me
    • The "Notify Me" button displays for select currently unavailable products that the Canon Online Store expects to have in stock in the near future.
    • Once the Canon Online Store receives stock of an item, if you selected the "Notify Me" option, you will receive an automated email notification sent to the email address you used to create a Canon Account or to place your order (the "Product Availability Notification") letting you know that the item is now available and you can place your order.
    • Product Availability Notification emails do not guarantee price or item availability at the time you place your order.
  • Pending Shipment

    Your order has been sent to our warehouse but has not yet shipped. Once your order is warehoused (order has been sent to our warehouse), you cannot make any changes to the order.

  • Pre-Orders
    • If a pre-order button is available for an item, you can place an order for it before we have it in stock. This allows you to reserve new items before they are available to ship. Your credit/debit card will not be charged when you place a pre-order. The transaction will be processed once the order ships.
    • The estimated ship date that appears in the Order Receipt email is the approximate date that we expect to receive the pre-ordered item at our warehouse. This date is not a guarantee of shipment. All pre-order ship dates are approximate and are subject to change without notice.
    • Orders that include pre-order items will ship in full once we receive stock of each item in our warehouse. In stock items ordered with the pre-ordered products will ship when the pre-ordered item is available. If you would like to receive in-stock items before pre-order products are available to ship, you will need to place separate orders.
    • In some cases, there may be an unanticipated delay in the arrival of items due to unforeseeable circumstances. If a pre-order item is delayed, we will update the estimated ship date to reflect that change and notify you of the new estimated ship date via an email sent to the email address you used to create a Canon Account or to place your order.
  • Shipped Orders

    Your order has been picked up by FedEx and is on its way to you. To view the tracking number for the shipment, click on the order number link from your Shipment Confirmation email or on the Orders page in Canon Account.

  • Delivery Times & Shipping Charges

    The Canon Online Store only accepts and ships orders to street addresses in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. We do not ship to APO, FPO or P.O. box addresses., and we do not ship to Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Please avoid using "vanity addresses," as this could result in a delay in delivery.

    Order estimated delivery dates are based on product availability, processing time, and shipment option. Selecting the Overnight or 2nd Day Air shipping option does not ensure that your order will arrive in one or two days.

    Total time that it takes for you to receive your shipment after placing your order = Processing Time + Shipping Date + Transit Time

    The Canon Online store now offers a service called FedEx Ground. This service is an economically priced shipping service offered by FedEx and offers delivery Monday-Friday. Visit http://www.fedex.com/us/fedex/shippingservices/package/ground.html for more details. Deliveries to remote areas may require additional time in transit. Visit http://www.fedex.com/us/ to calculate transit time. The ship from address is Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158. FedEx 2nd Day and FedEx Priority Overnight orders received before 12:30 pm ET are typically processed on the day we receive your order, subject to the Shipping Delays section below. FedEx Ground orders are typically processed by 5:30 pm ET on the next business day, subject to the Shipping Delays section below.

    (For example: if we receive your order before 12:30 p.m. ET on a Monday and you select FedEx Priority Overnight delivery, your estimated order arrival date will be on the next day, i.e., on Tuesday. If we receive your order after 12:30 p.m. ET on a Monday and you select FedEx Priority Overnight delivery, your estimated order arrival date will be two days later, i.e., on Wednesday.)

    Please note our warehouses do not ship on weekends or holidays. Therefore, if we receive your order after 12:30 p.m. ET on a Friday and you have selected FedEx Priority Overnight delivery, your estimated order arrival date will be the following Tuesday, and if we receive your order after 12:30 p.m. ET on a Friday and you have selected FedEx 2nd Day Air delivery, your estimated order arrival date will be the following Wednesday, subject to the Shipping Delays section below.

  • Shipping Delays

    For your security, some orders will be processed through our loss prevention department. If your order undergoes this process, there may be a delay on the review and confirmation of your order.   • Shipping and Handling Charges

  • Canon Account

    By creating a Canon Account, you will be eligible for member-only benefits and services. Your profile information will be saved, so you will be able to place and review Online Store orders and easily register additional Canon products without re-entering your personal information. Also, Canon Professional Services (CPS) members can browse our Online Store and the Canon Professional Services websites without having to log in again.

  • Creating a Canon Account

    If you do not have an account, follow these steps below to create your account:

    • Navigate to the login screen by clicking Sign In at the top of the page.
    • From the login page, click the link to Create a Canon Account. You will be taken to the Canon Account Profile page.
    • Enter your contact information, including your e-mail address, a password, a reminder question, and your address information.
    • Once you have entered and verified all of your information, click the "Continue" button to resume shopping or checkout.
  • Updating Account Information
    • You can update your contact information in the Account Profile section by first logging in to the Canon Online Store. If you are having problems logging in with your User ID or Password, please click on Forgot User ID or Password and follow the instructions. If you continue to encounter problems, please call our Customer Support team toll-free at 1.800.385.2155, from 8:00am – Midnight ET, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
    • Next, click "Account Profile." You may change your password question and contact information.
    • Once you have entered your new contact information, click "Continue" to save your changes.
    • Changes to shipping information may be made during the checkout process.
  • Changing your Password
    • For security reasons, we recommend that you periodically change your Canon Account password.
    • To change your password, click on the Canon Account button at the top of any page on the Canon Online Store. Click on the "Change Password" link on the Account Profile page to go to the Change Password page.
    • If you have not yet logged into the store, enter your Canon Account User ID and password, click "Login," and you will be taken to the Account Profile page. To change your password, simply type your new password into the field provided and click "Continue." Your password will then be changed.
  • Reviewing your Orders

    You can review your orders by logging into your Canon Account.

    • To access the Orders page, click the Canon Account link located at the top of every page and fill in your Canon Account User ID and password.
    • Then, select Orders from the Canon Account page.
    • On the Orders page you can review the order number, the date and time the order was placed, the status of your order(s), and the total charges for your orders.
    • By selecting an order number, you can view the item(s) ordered and the tracking number(s) for shipped items. By clicking on the tracking number for your order, you will be taken directly to the shipment/tracking information on the FedEx Web site.

    • Your online security is important to us. When you place an order at the Canon Online Store, your credit/debit card information is encrypted using a VeriSign Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate. Credit/debit card information is not accessible through your profile on the Canon Online Store system, therefore, it must be re-entered each time you place an order.
    • To place an order by phone (not available for Build Your Bundle orders), call our Customer Support team toll-free at 1-800-385-2155, from 8:00am - Midnight ET, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
  • User ID and Password
    • Your Canon Account User ID is the e-mail address you entered when you registered on the Canon Online Store.
    • If you wish to change your e-mail address, you can do so on the "Update Your Account Information" page, after logging into the "Your Account" page with your current User ID.
    • For security reasons, we recommend that you periodically change your Canon Account password.
    • To change your password, click on the Canon Account button at the top of any page in the Canon Online Store. Click on the "Change Password" link on the Account Profile page to go to the Change Password page.
    • If you have not yet logged into the store, enter your Canon Account User ID and password, click "Login," and you will be taken to the Account Profile page. To change your password, simply type your new password into the field provided and click "Continue." Your password will then be changed.
  • Guest Account Access
    • You can checkout with our easy Guest Checkout service, without having to create a Canon Account.
    • Please save a copy of the Order Receipt and order number for your records.

  • Canon Online Store Pricing

    The prices advertised on this site are for Canon Online Store orders only. All prices are listed in U.S. dollars. Prices and the availability of items are subject to change without notice. Any promotions offered on the Canon Online Store are only available for purchases made at the Canon Online Store unless otherwise specified. Errors will be corrected when discovered. Despite our best efforts, some of the products listed on the Canon Online Store may be incorrectly priced. We are under no obligation to provide the product to you at the incorrect (lower) price, even after we have sent an Order Receipt or a Shipping Confirmation email to the email address you used to create a Canon Account or to place your order.

  • Fees, Taxes & Tax Exempt Purchasing

    Prior to submitting your payment information, you will have the opportunity to review product prices, sales tax, and shipping and handling charges. Applicable sales and use tax is charged on all orders, except for orders being shipped to Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon, and certain local jurisdictions in Alaska that have adopted a local sales and use tax as permitted under Alaska law. If you feel that you may be entitled to a sales and use tax exemption because you are exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the U. S. Internal Revenue Code, or are otherwise exempt from state and local sales and use taxes (for example, if you are a member of an Indian tribe recognized by the United States government and the merchandise is to be delivered to you on an Indian reservation in the United States) , please call our Customer Support team toll-free at 1-800-385-2155 so that you can provide the applicable sales and use tax exemption certificate.

  • Payment Options
    • Credit/Debit Card
      The Canon Online Store accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. You must use a U.S. credit/debit card with U.S. billing and shipping addresses (for details, see Shipping and Handling). Your card will not be charged until your order ships. If your card expires before the order is shipped, we will notify you and ask you to enter the credit/debit card number again with the new expiration date.

    • Check
      You may also pay by a check drawn on a bank account located in the United States by calling our Customer Support team at 1-800-385-2155.

    • Gift Card
      The Canon Online Store now accepts gift cards from Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Please select the checkbox for gift cards and enter your card information on the Payment Info and Order Review page of the checkout process.

      If you are using a gift card in addition to an accepted credit or debit card for your payment, please enter the gift card information first, and then enter the information for the accepted credit/debit card. Please register your gift card with the card issuer (providing your name and billing address) and confirm the available balance prior to placing your order.

    • Multiple Payments
      The Canon Online Store allows you to split your payment across multiple accepted cards. You can combine gift/pre-paid cards (issued by Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) and credit/debit cards.

      If you are using a gift card and an accepted credit or debit card for payment, please enter the gift card information first, then enter the credit/debit card information. Please register your gift card with the card issuer (providing your name and billing address) and confirm the available balance prior to placing your order.

  • Reseller Policy

    Please note that the Canon Online Store is intended for end-user consumers purchasing products for their own personal or household use only. Accordingly, the Canon Online Store reserves the right to refuse or cancel orders at any time if it believes that the products are being purchased for resale. The Canon Online Store assumes no responsibility or liability for anything resulting from such refusals or cancellations, or for e-mail notification failure.   • Order Confirmation and Cancellation

    If for any reason we are unable to process your payment, we reserve the right to cancel your order.

    The Canon Online Store reserves the right to decline or cancel orders at any time. Order Receipt, Backorder Notification and Shipment Confirmation e-mails are sent to the e-mail address you used to create an account or to place your order. We assume no responsibility for issues resulting from such declines, cancellations, or e-mail notification failure.

    All orders are electronically transferred to our warehouse at the time they are placed, and they cannot be cancelled by you (except backordered items that have not yet arrived in our warehouse. If you decide you do not want the order after it is delivered, please see our Return Policy. If an order is processed in error, contact our Customer Support team immediately at 1-800-385-2155 for instructions.

  • Shipping and Handling

    The shipping and handling charge is intended to compensate Canon USA for the cost of handling your order, packaging the product(s) you have purchased, and delivering it/them to you or to the recipient you designate. Prior to submitting your payment information, you will have the opportunity to review the applicable shipping and handling charge. The Canon Online Store ships merchandise to street addresses within the 50 United States and the District of Columbia only. The Canon Online Store only accepts billing and shipping addresses in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. We do not ship orders to APO/FPO or P.O. Boxes, and we do not ship to Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Please avoid using "vanity addresses," as this could result in a delay in delivery.

  • Typographical and Photographical Errors

  • Where is my order?

    To view your order status and track your shipment, click here or log in to Canon Account to review the date and time that the order was placed, order number and status, and total charges for your orders.

    By selecting an order number, you can view the item(s) ordered and the tracking number(s) for shipped items. By clicking on the tracking number for your order, you will be taken directly to the shipment/tracking information on the FedEx website.

  • What is a pre-order?

    If a pre-order button is available for an item, you can place an order for it before we have it in stock. This allows you to reserve new items before they are available to ship. Your credit/debit/gift card will not be charged when you place a pre-order. The transaction will be processed when the order ships.

    The estimated ship date is the approximate date that we expect to receive the pre-ordered item at our warehouse. This date is not a guarantee of shipment. All pre-order ship dates are approximate and are subject to change without notice.

    Orders that include pre-order items will ship in full once we receive stock of each item in our warehouse. In-stock items ordered with the pre-ordered products will ship when the pre-ordered item is available. If you would like to receive in-stock items before all pre-order products in your order are available to ship, please place separate orders.

  • How do I register my Canon CarePAK Extended Service Plan?

    To register a Canon CarePak Extended Service Plan, go to the Register Your CarePAK page under the Accessories � Extended Service Plan menu.

  • Why didn't my credit/debit/gift card payment process?

    If your credit/debit/gift card payment does not process, check your payment information to confirm that it is entered correctly, and without spaces. If you believe your order was declined in error, contact the appropriate credit/debit/gift card-issuing agency.

  • Why was my order delayed for shipping?

    In some cases, there may be an unanticipated shipping delay due to unforeseeable circumstances. Additionally, for your security, some orders will be processed through our loss prevention department. If your order undergoes this process, there may be a delay on the review and confirmation of your order.
